About Scott Dick

SCOTT DICK Occupation: Retired Army officer and Political Analyst Age: 52

Education and Qualifications:

I am opposed to incorporation, and I am running to ensure that if Carmel Valley is incorporated there is someone on the council who is pragmatic and has real experience helping to run a community of our size. My last Army job was as the operations officer of a military community on two separate bases with approximately 6,000 American residents living and working in a foreign country. I have commanded or led organizations from 6 to 300 with budgets in the millions and have been responsible for providing food, fuel, medical support and training for thousands of people. I appreciate the concerns of environmentalists, property owners, agriculture and small businesses that populate our community and I will do my best to maintain the freedoms we have now.

My credentials include:

BA in Psychology from University of Kentucky, (Phi Beta Kappa), MA from Columbia University (New York City), Army Combined Arms Services Staff School and Army Command and General Staff College.

I have served in the Carmel Valley Rotary Club and I’m on the board of directors for the Monterey County LGBT Community Center.

If elected I will do my utmost to keep the new city’s hands out of your pockets!
