Education and Qualifications:
As one of the candidates on the anti-incorporation slate, I support a rural valley without another layer of expensive government. We don’t need five more politicians telling citizens what to do with their lives. We don’t need a redevelopment agency that kicks people off their property and gives it to developers to increase city tax revenues. We don’t need 300 to 400 low- income housing units (that the state will mandate if Carmel Valley becomes a city). We don’t need to pay up to $25,000 per household to hook up to a city sewer system (again, a likely mandate from the state and federal level). We don’t need more taxes, parking meters, business fees, and non-voter- approved bonds to pay for city staff, politicians, generous retirement benefits, and public buildings. We don’t need a local planning department peeking over our fences to see if we comply with building and zoning codes.
Carmel Valley is a rural area with low density. We don’t need more hotels, strip malls and traffic. Nor do we need the poison politics and bankruptcy turmoil that many cities are now experiencing. Vote NO on incorporation. See our website:
